"Visions of the Future" is an illustration from the Butterfly Princess universe, the ninth drawing in the series. It depicts a scene from Quest for the World-Breaker in which Mariposa and her traveling companions—Brian Devonhyre, Syxx, and Talla Unica—are visiting Tha'aron the wizard, who consults his seeing stone as Syzygy and Hissy-Fitt look on.

The illustration was intended to serve as the front cover for The Quest for the World-Breaker, but was not ready at publication time.
This was the first illustrated based specifically on characters from the novels, rather than the other way around (previously, the characters from the novels were inspired by the illustrations).
